Family First Aid Courses Feb 2018 onwards…

 Covering the following:

 How to recognise a sick baby or child who is deteriorating quickly & where to get help.

 How to help someone who is choking when back slaps alone aren’t working.

 How to help someone who stops breathing.

 This 2 hour course offers parents, grandparents and those caring for young children the  chance to gain knowledge & confidence to act should an emergency happen.


 Courses run every month the next 3 are as follows:

Keeping your child safe in the sun.


  • Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sunshine.
  • Encourage your child to play in the shade between 11am and 3pm when sun is at it’s strongest.
  • Cover exposed parts of child’s skin with sunscreen even on cloudy or overcast days.
  • Use a sun protection cream with SPF of 15 or above and one that is effective against UVA and UVB.
  • Don’t forget ears, nose, shoulders and cheeks and top of their feet.
  • Reapply cream regularly throughout the day.
  • Cover child in loose layers of cotton clothing.
  • Get child to wear a floppy hat that covers face and neck.
  • Protect their eyes with sun glasses that meet BS standards BSEN 1836:2005 with CE Kite mark.
  • When swimming use a waterproof sun block of factor 15 or above and reapply afterwards.
